Deborah De La Torre's award-winning career spans over 35 years of performing, composing, teaching, accompanying professional instrumentalists and opera singers, and making significant contributions in arts and culture.  She has performed as a soloist, within ensembles, and with professional performers since her first public solo recital at age eleven.   

During her formative years, Deborah was the pupil of Dr. Rosalina Sackstein, professor emeritus at the University of Miami School of Music.  Dr. Sackstein, president and artistic director of the Miami Civic Music Association, was the student of world renowned Chilean pianist Claudio Arrau.  As a young student, Deborah   performed for Maestro Arrau, and through her studies with Dr. Sackstein, Deborah has received the legacy of the this important pianistic technique. 

Deborah De La Torre is the president of DLT Creative Productions, LLC, a company providing services in music teaching and film and video production.  Deborah also owns DLT Press, which publishes books and music.  An accomplished performer and composer, her experience includes piano performance, music composition, teaching privately and at the college level, accompanying/chamber and répéteur work with opera singers and musical theater vocalists. Deborah has been a festival founder/executive director, film producer and recording artist/producer.   

She has taught and performed in the U.S. and internationally and has founded several arts and culture nonprofit organizations, including an international Latina/o art and film festival, which grew to a ten-day event with over 3,000 attendees. She has served in senior leadership capacities in creative organizations (art festival, museum, film, music organizations, etc.) including executive management and development, and as a judge in national  community, film and arts events. 

Deborah's lengthy professional experience includes work in the for-profit, government, faith-based and nonprofit sectors as well as in academic institutions. 

In addition to her music degree from the University of Miami, Florida, Deborah received a Masters degree in Business Administration from Regis University in Denver, Colorado and has lead strategic planning sessions for a variety of cultural and nonprofit organizations.  

​Deborah is the producer of a documentary dealing with immigration and human rights, and her compositions are published by Orbis Books and DLT Press.  She has received numerous business and civic awards for her dedication and service to the furtherance of arts in the community, and continues to perform and give presentations on music composition around the country.​  

Deborah recently taught several semesters of piano and music theory at DIME-Denver, a commercial music program affiliated with and accredited through Metropolitan State University Denver.
